A hardbound reference volume titled on its cover "Daten der NSDAP" and with a fuller title page reading "Daten der Geschichte der NSDAP, " a chronological history of the NSDAP by Dr. Hans Volz, published by Verlag A. G. Ploetz, Berlin/Leipzig. The title page identifies this as the eighth, reworked and expanded edition, dated 1938. The illustrated divisional page carries motifs including a colonnade and a marching column beneath a standard bearing a swastika emblem, printed in red, black and cream tones.

Works of this kind were produced as reference chronologies documenting the party's official history for contemporary readers, and volumes such as this circulate today primarily as historical research material.

"Daten der Geschichte der NSDAP" by Hans Volz was a standard chronological reference work published in multiple editions through the 1930s, presenting a year-by-year timeline of the NSDAP's founding, rise, and consolidation of power intended for schools, libraries, and general readers within Nazi Germany. Such chronologies served the regime's propaganda and educational apparatus by codifying an official, state-sanctioned narrative of the party's history, framing events like the 1923 Putsch, the 1933 Machtergreifung, and subsequent legislation as a linear progression toward National Socialist rule. The repeated re-editions, including this eighth expanded printing of 1938, reflect the ongoing effort to update the official record with recent developments such as the annexation of Austria.
