German WWI Butcher Bayonet

Steel blade shows widespread oxidation, gray patina and deep fullers, stamped C.G. HAENEL SUHL with Prussian crown over W 16 on spine. Grooved wood hilt scales secured by two rivets display handling wear, paired with a distinct backward swept crossguard. Complete with a dented steel scabbard housed in a 1943 dated kvz leather frog showing surface cracking. Full length 20.5 inches, blade length 14.5 inches.
