German WWII BATTLESHIP SCHARNHORST Pre Sinking Cigarette Case In Alpacca Alloy

Engraved alpacca alloy body displays moderate handling wear with light overall surface scuffs and a softened, age patina highlighting the sharp relief details. The spring loaded hinge remains solid, functioning smoothly alongside a tight, flush fitting catch mechanism stamped Alpacca. The clean interior compartment retains its structural integrity, complete with later yellow elastic retention bands and an exceptionally crisp, hand etched presentation inscription reading In loyalty, Horst, dated May 31, 1943. Battleship Scharnhorst was sunk on December 26, 1943. Size 3 x 3.5 inches.
