Scarce M1864 Bavarian gendarmerie saber/sidearm for officers. Double-edged blade. On both sides of the blade is a partially visible original etching with the royal Bavarian coat of arms and motto "In Treue Fest". In overall good shape considering its age, with normal signs of wear. The leather wrapping the grip is in perfect condition! Typical Bavarian three-branch guard, very similar to the M1826 chevauleger saber. Overall length: 72 cm Blade length: 59,5 cm Weight: 600 grams.
