ARM HEIGHT: 50 CM The Utrecht Armchair stands out for its constructivist design: volumes that are incorporated to form an original and futuristic seat; seat and backrest join at 90 degrees, while the two L-shaped armrests (large and comfortable) give a sort of movement to the apparent stiffness Gerrit T. Rietveld designed the Utrecht armchair in 1935, for the Metz & Co department store in Amsterdam, orienting the design with a view to expanded distribution. The more market-oriented approach, focused on the values of comfort and relaxation, breaks down the elements, becoming an icon of the neoplastic movement and the Dutch architect's experimental vision.
