ABOUT THE WORK
Getulio Alviani is one of the most representative Italian artists of Arte Programmata, the international movement of Nove Tendencije, as well as related kinetic-optical research.
Since the early 1960s, its clear lines have become typical and recognizable, prototypes of vibrantly textured milled aluminum surfaces that will later become the tangible signature.
Characterized by transparencies and by kaleidoscopic effects that can be changed depending on the visual angle and the incidence of light, they are rigorously designed so that they can be reproduced in series: the surface, eclectically milled with a precision determined by programming pre-established, continually changes depending on the positions of the visual angles and the light, generating always different images.
During the following decade, he also dealt with chromatic phenomenology and the creation of three-dimensional structures from mathematical formulas.
