Beigegeben ein Gutachten von Alessandro Agresti, Rom, 28.02.2023, in Kopie. Agresti ordnet das Gemälde in die Zeit zwischen 1650 und 1660 ein. Er bezeichnet das vorliegende Gemälde als ein Meisterwerk des Künstlers in hervorragendem Zustand.
Inmitten eines angedeuteten, jedoch abgedunkelten Innenraums die nach rechts gerichtete geflügelte, hell beleuchtete Figur des schlafenden Eros. Ein Putto wendet sich dem Betrachter zu und fordert zum Schweigen auf. Hier im scharfen Chiaroscuro-Kontrast des zu der Zeit vorherrschenden Caravaggismus.
