Gibeon Meteorite & Woolly Mammoth Knife Gibeon Blade, Iron, IVA Great Nama Land, Namibia Handle, Mammuthus primigenius Pleistocene Alaska, USA This Bowie-style knife has been painstakingly crafted out of ancient material to create this one-of-a-kind artifact. The blade of this knife features a clip point and is composed of cut, etched and polished Gibeon Meteorite, which showcases the meteorite's stunning and diagnostic "crisscrossing" Widmanstätten pattern. This ancient meteorite landed in Namibia and was first discovered back in 1836, ironically the same year that its namesake died at the famed Battle of the Alamo. The incredible blade measures 5 inches (12.7 cm) and features a full tang. The grip is made of exceptional Woolly Mammoth tusk panels that have been carved and polished to accentuate their natural beige hue, with a spattering of blue Vivianite. The grip also features finger grooves for functionality and design. The impressive knife is in great condition and was handmade with obvious skill and care by St. Louis knife maker Randy Larsen. Overall Measurements: 9.84 x 1.93 x 0.87 inches (25.00 x 4.90 x 2.20 cm) [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm] Disclaimer: The sale or offer to sell, trade, barter, purchase, and transport of fossilized ivory, including that from Mammoths, is currently banned or restricted in seven US states. If you are a resident of New York, New Jersey, Illinois, New Hampshire, California, Nevada or Hawaii, you may not bid on a lot with fossilized ivory, including that from Mammoths. Legislation is constantly subject to change, and it is possible that other states may be added to the list at any time based on the passage of laws. Further, depending on the specific regulations, there might be restrictions or prohibitions on buying, selling, owning, transporting, and shipping ivory, including material from ancient animals such as Mammoths.
