Gio Ponti style Italian Brass and Etched Glass Wall Mirror.
A rectangular wall mirror with rounded corners, featuring an Italian mid-century modern aesthetic. The mirror is encased in a slim, gold-tone metal frame with a ribbed metal joiner at the top edge. The glass plate is decorated with a linear etched border that intersects at each corner, creating a framed effect within the glass itself. The construction consists of the mirror plate mounted onto a hardboard backing. A diamond-shaped metal hanging bracket is secured to the upper portion of the reverse. There are no visible maker's marks or labels on the frame, glass, or backing board.
Length: Approximately 79 cm.
Width: Approximately 32 cm.
More Information
The mirror plate shows significant signs of age-related wear, with visible foxing and silvering degradation particularly concentrated around the lower perimeter and corners (photo 3). Several surface scratches and minor abrasions are present across the glass plate. The gold-tone metal frame exhibits general wear and tarnishing consistent with age. There is adhesive residue and a piece of tape present on the top edge of the rear backing board (photo 5).
