Description
According to Adelheid Gealt, the composition of this newly discovered drawing is based on a composition by Frans Snyder, which Domenico probably studied in the original during his stay in Spain in 1762-1770 (Boston Museum of Fine Arts, inv. no. 17.322). The same hunting scene is depicted in a drawing from the Punchinello series (Fogg Art Museum, Cambridge, inv. no. 1965.420). – The outermost margins minimally yellowed. The margins with slight traces of handling. A crease in the lower right corner and above the signature on the right. Overall in good condition.
