Giuseppe Chiari (1927-2007) - Chitarra

[ translate ]

\Artist: Giuseppe Chiari (1927-2007)
Technique: Silkscreen / Serigraph\Signature: Hand signed
He was a musician, pianist and visual artist, and he was part of the Fluxus movement. He started writing music from 1950, “a music, that of 1950, anticipating minimalism by 20 years”. His compositions from the early period are “Intervalli” and “Studi sulla singola frequenza”. Among his later works: “Gesti sul piano”, 1962, and “L’arte è facile”, 1972. Within the Fluxus group he experimented with the concept of “visual music” by combining visual and musical art in a continuum where music was characterised by its visual component. “In the visual art field, abstractionism and conceptual art irreversibly conquer the incorporeality typical of musical expression”. Here is offered a very rare serigraph by the master. Overall size 160 x 100 cm. It depicts one of the themes most dear to the artist. This work presumably dates back to the 1980s, that’s why any small imperfections are due to its age. Insured shipping and professional packaging. Please note: the edition number may be different from that shown in the images. However, you will receive a work with the same identical features as the piece depicted in this auction.
