Glashütte Original's special edition model Strasser & Rohde Regulator was produced in a limited edition of 25 pieces only and pays homage to two great figures of watchmaking in Glashütte: Ludwig Strasser & Gustav Rohde. The timepiece was first launched in 2009 and revisits the sober dial design of the original Strasser & Rohde regulators. The black highlights of the off-centre displays boldly stand out from the silvery shimmer of the dial. A fluted and blackened minute track runs around the outer edge of the dial and a subsidiary hour dial is positioned at 12 o clock; its Roman numbers are also fluted and blackened. Opposite at 6 o clock sits a sunk seconds dial. The 42 mm case of this handsome timepiece is made of polished red gold; the crystal back reveals the sophisticated manual wind calibre 49 with a Glashütte Ÿ plate, blued screws and screwed gold chatons. Its distinctive, austere design is certainly one of the reasons that make the "Strasser & Rohde Regulator" by Glashütte Original an absolute must-have for any lover of elegant timepieces.
