Glico Two-Gallon Petrol Can
A Glico 2-gallon metal petrol can of rectangular form, overpainted in a light grey finish. The can features the brand name GLICO embossed diagonally to both main side panels. The top surface is embossed with PETROLEUM SPIRIT HIGHLY INFLAMMABLE and a 3/- price mark. It is fitted with a central fixed handle and a brass screw cap with four raised finger tabs, embossed with the GLICO wordmark. The base is constructed with horizontal reinforcing ribs, the central rib embossed with VALOR 4 50.
Condition Report:
The can has been overpainted in a non-original light grey finish, showing various scuffs, scratches, and small chips (photo 1). There are minor dents to the side panels, notably across the embossed lettering (photo 1 and 3). Red surface marks are visible on one side panel towards the base (photo 2). The brass cap shows age-related tarnish but remains clearly legible (photo 6). The base exhibits some paint loss and surface wear to the ribs (photo 7).
