Globe, Tabletop globe - The earth - 1980-2000

[ translate ]

I propose a globe made with inlays of various types of semiprecious stones, the structure of which is entirely made of brass, resting on three legs that end with stylized feral feet which, in turn, rest on three small spheres.

The globe was made with stone inlays of various types and is obviously not faithful to the conformation and borders of the states, since the stones were carved manually and such precision is not objectively possible; it is however an object with a notable scenographic and decorative impact, as well as a unique and essential piece of furniture in a cabinet of curiosities or in a wunderkammer collection!

This globe is both table-top and floor-standing, given that its measurements make it perfectly visible in both locations: it measures 46x46x46 cm and weighs approximately 4. 5 kg, the diameter of the globe alone is approximately 33 cm.

The globe is very reminiscent of the works carried out starting from the end of the 16th century by the Opificio delle Pietre Dure in Florence, in particular from a chromatic point of view.

The object will be packaged carefully, to prevent, as much as possible, any damage during transport.

Happy bidding everyone!
