Raymond Burr, as reporter Steve Martin, sets out to investigate Godzilla, the horrific creature that is terrorizing Tokyo with its frenzied rampages. This particular version of the film was America's introduction to the monster. It was originally produced in Japan and titled, Godzilla (1954), and much of the footage from that version was used in this 1956 American version, with scenes featuring Burr and others added in.
