Of Renaissance Revival style, featuring a detachable quatrefoil-shaped openwork locket with elaborate polychrome enamel, set with one cushion-shaped and one cabochon ruby and accented by cabochon emeralds, single-cut diamonds and seed pearls, on a matching chain composed of links in the form of a cipher of the letters K and Y.Length 18½ inches, pendant length 2¾ inches14 karat goldCirca 1870-1900

Condition Report:
In good condition, with minor abrasions and discoloration to the mounting commensurate with age and wear. Several small areas of loss to the enamel. One of the emerald cabochons is missing. One of the pearls has been replaced with an artificial one that has lost most of its coating. Stamped with illegible hallmarks. The back of the pendant incised with inventory marks. Tests as 14 karat gold. The cushion-shaped ruby has a faceted crown and a cabochon pavilion. The rubies are medium pinkish-purplish red and moderately included. The emeralds are medium green and heavily included. The diamonds are of decorative quality. The pearls are round to off-round with white and cream bodycolor, good to very good luster and smooth skins. The pearls have not been tested for natural origin. The pendant attaches to the chain with a hook. The chain closes with a hook and is additionally secured with a safety chain. Gross weight approximately 34 dwts.
