Description: A superb gold and enamel snuff box . The lid features an oval enamel plaque, painted with the classical mythological subject within a gold frame with enamelled leaves. The ground of translucent orange enamel over engine turning, an extremely rare colour framed by borders of alternating white beads and interlaced green enamel. The sides and base are similarly decorated with rope twist borders. French prestige marks including crowned F mark. The rim with Hanau 18 carat shell mark further struck three times with initials GP in an oval.
