The twin glass and steel towers of 860-880 Lake Shore Drive were designed by Goldberg's mentor, Ludwig Mies van Der Rohe in 1949. Goldberg took this photograph of the buildings in the 1950s. The inclusion of the frame illustrates his awareness of both the iconic quality of the buildings and also the role of the viewer, something he remained interested in throughout his career.
