The Golden Cockerel. Finely detailed Russian Lacquer box, decorated in Palekh and signed by the artist, dated 1978. Round box measures 4" diameter. Excellent condition with no damage or repairs. This box is from an important collection, many pieces of which are in this sale, with some having been featured in the book Russian Lacquers, Legends and Fairy Tales by Lucy Maxym, published 1981.
