in a seated pose with arms resting on the lap, 7.5cm high
Note: this Buddha was for many years in the private collection of the well-known collector the late John Barnett. It was tested by the Bangkok National Museum and had a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale of gemstones. It was believed to have come from the 1951 excavation of a Buddhist site in Northwest Thailand near the border with Burma.
Shows signs of incrustations and consistent overall wear for its age.
