The work is based on the impressions of a trip to Cyprus shortly before the pandemic. Petra Tu Romiu is a place with a long history. Amazing views around, clean water, and silence. Legend has it that it was here in 1200 BC that the beautiful Aphrodite emerged from the sea foam and found a human body. She became the goddess of beauty, love, fertility, eternal spring, and life.

40x30cm, paper, wax, oil pastel, 2020, framed with a passepartout under glass, author's signature on the front side, has a certificate of authenticity.

Maria Golovkina is an interdisciplinary artist, teacher, and member of the Union of Designers of Russia. Lives and works in Tula. She has a higher art education in the specialty "graphic design" and studied contemporary art at the British Higher School of Design. In her artistic practice, she explores the phenomenon of memory, observes the manifestations of the past in the present. Works with the theme of identity, drawing inspiration and images from family mythology. She pays attention to drawing in the open air by graphic techniques, focusing on the interaction of the chaotic and structural, extracting movement and texture from nature and moving towards the manifestation of the unexplained and abstract. She experiments with various materials, creates original techniques in the search for an expressive plastic language.Participant of international and Russian exhibitions and competitions.
