Gong (2) - Bronze - Hsaing Waing - Burma - Early 20th century
DESCRIPTION: Two bronze Burmese gongs that were part of a Hsaing Waing, a traditional circular Burmese musical instrument composed of 19 or 21 gongs. The musician occupies the central place and hits the gongs with a mallet (see the last two photos) . The one at the top measures 17. 7 cm in diameter while the one at the bottom measures 19. 5 cm in diameter; it produces a lovely sound. It is sold with a custom-made steel stand and a mallet. Very beautiful patina from age and use. Around the early 20th century. Antique and very decorative item. CONDITION: In good condition, but they show signs of age and use (see pictures) . Will be packaged with care, insured shipment via Bpost with track & trace.
