Grand bol en céramique à motif de de trois kappa (dans le folklore, une créature aquatique parfois dangereuse avec une carapace de tortue dans son dos) regardant par-dessus le bord du puits du bol où une paire de silures (namazu) est représentée. (Le poisson-chat est connu pour garder les îles du Japon à flot. Quand ils frappent avec leur nageoire, un tremblement de terre peut se produire). A l’extérieur, le kappa sort d’un champ de roseaux. Very large ceramic bowl with exceptional design of three kappa (in folklore a naughty and sometimes dangerous water creature with a turtle shell at its back) looking over the rim into the well of the bowl where a pair of catfish (namazu) are depicted. Catfish are known for keeping the islands of Japan afloat. When they strike with their fin, an earthquake may occur. At the outside the kappa creep out of a reed field. By Yamamoto Yūji (1945).
