A large Ottoman silver mounted steel dagger (jambiyya), Turkey, 18th/19th Century
the tapering double-edged blade curving upward, each face with central ridge, the forte decorated in gold overlay with inscription filled cartouche to one side, the silver hilt decorated in repoussé with architectural details on vegetal interlace, the wood scabbard clad in silver and decorated en suite in repoussé
