This is an extremely high quality set in the classic Louis XVI pattern. The Mother-of-Pearl handled dessert knives are a real blessing and hard to come by. While the magnificent storage cabinet is not the original cabinet custom made for the set, it holds the set comfortably and additional smaller storage trays are included for the extra pieces. The sterling pieces are even more stunning than can be reflected by the photographs. The set is in excellent condition and is offered at an extraordinarily low price. It is extremely good value for money. Each sterling piece contains the French governments Head of the Minerva-1 Hallmark, signifying a minimum of 950 sterling, along with the manufacturer's hallmark. Jean Granvigne operated at 4 rue Beranger here in Paris in the mid to late 1800s and was later bought by Tetard Freres. The sterling silver blades on the dessert knives with Mother-of-Pearl handles bears the French Government's Head of the Minerva 2 hallmark and also the manufacturer's hallmark "LP".The Set Includes (all weights and measure approximate):
