New York: The New York Times, ca. 1951. 23 3/8 x 17 7/8 in. reproduction from the September 13, 1951 issue of the paper, featuring a full-page ad for "The Nation's Nightmare" a CBS Radio Network program about teen drug addiction, gambling, and organized crime on the New York City waterfront. The ad was designed by legendary CBS art director, Lou Dorfsman, and features an illustration of a teenage boy shooting heroin, by Andy Warhol, one of his earliest commercial pieces of art to appear in print. The ad won a Gold Medal from the New York Art Director's Club. Rare.
