Grateful Dead: Limited Edition Lithograph of FD-26

[ translate ]

A limited edition lithographic print by Rhino of FD-26, also known as Skull & Roses, numbered 97 of 350, signed by Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse.
41 x 30 in.

Perhaps the most memorable of all the San Francisco concert posters of the 60s, FD-26 was originally made by Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse to promote an appearance by the Grateful Dead at the Avalon Ballroom on September 16 and 17, 1966. Kelley and Mouse appropriated an image of a skeleton with roses created by Edward Joseph Sullivan in the late 19th century for an edition of The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam and embellished it with hand-drawn lettering. It became synonymous with the Grateful Dead and original printings are now highly collectable. This lithograph is an officially licensed version, beautifully printed on high quality paper.
