A161, 1840 (19 May), hand-coloured addressed to William Mulready at the Royal Academy in London, cancelled by vermilion-red Maltese Cross, the reverse with a fine strike of Norwich despatch c.d.s. and three different London datestamps (20.5), the address side with additional large "L" in circle struck in red; some light soiling and damaged at left, otherwise fine and most attractive. A very rare hand coloured example addressed to the designer. A great showpiece item for the refined collector. Photo
