Snider-Enfield Mk III cavalry carbine. (Portuguese contract) The rifle is in a very nice and well working condition. The calibre is . 577 central fire. It is a Mk III so it is equipped with a steel barrel with beautiful rifling. It was made by Enfield in 1870 and commissioned by Portugal. It is identical to the English variant only it has a ring on the butt for attaching a belt. Enfield's stamp can still be vaguely seen on the butt. The rifle comes with a cleaning rod in the butt. The leather flap intended for the protection of the visor is missing.
