Robert Broomfield
1659 (4 Aug.) letter signed regarding a Thomas King who was "lately employed by the State to carry ammunition ... for the Guarrison of Dunkirke" where he received "out of the stores there about 2 or 3000 musketts to bring over for England", Broomfield then suggests that King had been keeping back the locks to "putt some of them into a penny purse to mend his wages". Signed "Rob: Broomfield". An interesting whistle-blowing document. Some tears and staining to be expected.
