Victoria bronze "William Wyon" Medal 1854 PF68 Brown NGC, BHM-2535, Eimer-1480. 56mm. By L.C. Wyon. Obv. Draped bust right. Rev. Britannia standing facing, head right, holding trident and olive branch, four hippocampus rearing. Every detail is immaculately preserved on this scintillating Proof specimen that is draped in red-tinged russet skin. William Wyon served as chief engraver at the Royal Mint, 1828-1851, and is perhaps best known for his Victoria Young Head bust design.
