Victoria gold Sovereign 1841 XF40 NGC, KM736.1, S-3852, Marsh-24A (R3). Unbarred As in GRATIA. An absolute rarity from the Victorian Sovereign series, both as a date and variety, denoted by the inverted unbarred "A" in "GRATIA." Elusive, even when witnessed in comparable conditional assignments, but clearly the piece at hand is a visual outlier, punctuated by mottled amber tone that will surely pique the interest of the advanced Sovereign collector.
