5th century BC. A blue core-formed footed glass aryballos with white trailing to the flange rim and body; the body with vertical impressed ribbing. Cf. Property of a London gentleman; formerly with AuctionArt, Rémy Le Fur & Associés, lot 128, 10 October 2012; previously with Mr Maurice Mathieu; acquired from Asfar, Lebanon, 1960s; this lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by AIAD certificate number no. 10790-177846.
