2nd century BC-2nd century AD. An orange carnelian fish amulet section; accompanied by a handwritten and signed scholarly note by W.G. Lambert, late Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham 1970-1993, which states: 'Front part of fish in orange carnelian, 10x19x4 mm. Eye pierced, body hatched. Ancient Near East, Hellenistic/Roman, c. 200 B.C.-200 A.D. Condition of piece very good.' 1.21 grams, 20mm (3/4"). Ex private London, UK, collection, 1970-1990. [No Reserve]
