Greek Hellenistic Medallion with Mars

2nd century BC-2nd century AD. A terracotta medallion with facing helmetted female bust modelled in the half round; accompanied by a handwritten and signed scholarly note by W.G. Lambert, late Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham 1970-1993, which states: 'Terracotta medallion, 39x39mm., two holes. Female bust in deep relief on one side only, within decorative frame. Mesopotamia, Hellenistic or Parthian, c. 200 B.C.-200 A.D. Condition very good. Nice work.' 12.4 grams, 40mm (1 1/2"). Ex private London, UK, collection, 1970-1990.
