Greece, Kingdom of Thrace. Lysimachus, king 323 to 281 BCE. Struck at the Pella mint, ca. 286 to 282 BCE. Silver tetradrachm. Obverse: Head r. of deified Alexander the Great, wearing diadem and ram's horn. Reverse: Helmeted Athena, wearing chiton and peplos, seated l. on throne, holding on her extended r. hand Nike crowning the king's name, her l. elbow resting on large shield at side; in l. field, two monograms. Thompson 181, 248 variety. Size: 1.1" W (2.8 cm); 16.1 grams
