Greek Ring with Nike

4th century BC. A bronze ring comprising a D-section hoop expanding at the shoulders to an oval bezel, intaglio image of winged Nike standing left holding a wreath. Cf. Chadour, A.B., Rings. The Alice and Louis Koch Collection, volume I, Leeds, 1994, item 68, for type. 6.10 grams, 20.46mm overall, 16.88mm internal diameter (approximate size British K, USA 5 1/4, Europe 9.95, Japan 9) (1"). Acquired in the late 1980s-early 1990s. Important North West London collection.
