A Greek black-figure lekythos depicting a chariot rider and pair of horses, c. 500 - 480 BC, the horses nicely painted with long slender legs, the rider hunched over grasping the reins. The shoulder is adorned with a double tongue motif and the foot and spout are solid black. H: 6 5/8 in (16.8 cm). Some light weathering and surface deposits. Ex Connecticut private collection.
