Greene (Graham, editor) Night and Day, 26 issues [all published], numerous illustrations and advertisements, original wrappers, some light wear to spines, occasional creasing or light toning to covers, an excellent set, preserved in custom drop-back box, 4to, 1st July - 23rd December 1937. *** Graham Greene's short-lived magazine that attempted to rival the New Yorker, with contributions by Evelyn Waugh, Anthony Powell, John Betjeman, Henry Miller, Christopher Isherwood and others. Rare complete and in the original wrappers. The magazine struggled and was facing severe financial constraints before the end of its first year, however the publication of Greene's notorious review of Shirley Temple in "Wee Willie Winkie" and the resulting lawsuit did much to ensure its early closure.
