The cabochon star sapphire to a textured gold mount enhanced with brilliant-cut diamonds, size 471/2, signed Grima, British hallmarks for gold, date letter for 1969.

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 136341, dated 1 March 2024, stating that the sapphire is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating, with a moderate amount of oil in fissures.

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 136341, dated 1 March 2024, stating that the cabochon sapphire, measuring approximately 19.15 x 17.50 x 11.40mm, is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating, with a moderate amount of oil in fissures.

Signed GRIMA. British hallmarks and stamped 18 for 18 carat gold, assay office mark for London, date letter for 1969. Sapphire calculated to weigh approximately 35.00 - 40.00 carats, slightly violetish blue of medium to high saturation, heavily included, surface reaching inclusions, needles, reflective inclusions, minor asterism, not well-centered. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 1.00 - 1.50 carats, on average H-I colour, VS-SI clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Scuffs and scratches to the metal consistent with age and wear, minor tarnish only visible upon close inspection. Shank squared. In good condition. Gross weight approximately 44 grams.
