Offered here for your consideration is a group of sterling silver and Taxco Jewelry. Included in this lot are a necklace, bracelet, and earring set, another bracelet, and 12 pair of earrings. The necklace, bracelet, and post back earring set features unusual shaped pendants with channel inlays of malachite resting in smooth silver settings (23 on the necklace, 6 on the bracelet, and one on each earring). The necklace has a box clasp, and the bracelet has a box clasp with silver chain guard. The additional bracelet features six pendants that each has four cabochons of turquoise and gaspeite, each resting in smooth silver bezels resting on a darkened silver plate. The pendants are linked with silver rings, and the piece is finished off with a nice toggle clasp. The eleven additional pair of earrings feature a variety of styles and gemstones. One post back pair features cowboy boots with gold trim on the tops and spurs. Several pair of these earrings are sterling silver designs in both post back and wire hook. Some have smooth silver, and some have hand stamped designs. Others have nice cutout designs. Two pair of earrings feature lapis cabochons in handmade silver bezels. The teardrop shaped earrings feature stamped lines. One pair of earrings is eliptical shaped pink mussel shell resting in smooth silver bezels with three silver stamped rod shaped dangles. The final pair of earrings features a lovely blue stone with a cloud effect (possibly sodalite) resting in a smooth silver bezel surrounded with twisted wire.
MAKER: The necklace, bracelet, and earring set is hallmarked TAXCO MEXICO TM-2D around AAC (stamped). The additional bracelet is hallmarked S MEXICO (stamped). The teardrop lapis earrings are hallmarked SADIE SAM (stamped). Sadie Sam (Navajo). Active since 1970s. The seashell shaped sterling silver earrings are hallmarked TAXCO MEXICO TE-05 around .925. The blue stone earrings are hallmarked MEXICO TC-279.
APPROX AGE: Vintage (meaning somewhere between 1930s to 1970s) to Fairly Modern (meaning 1980s and newer).
SIZE: The necklace measures 29 inches long, and the pendants measure 3/8 inch wide at the widest point x 3/4 inch from top to bottom. The matching bracelet measures 6 inches from end to end of the silver, and 3/4 inch wide at the widest point. The matching earrings measure 3/4 inch wide x 1 1/4 inch from top to bottom. The additional bracelet measures 7 1/4 inches from end of the silver x 5/8 inch wide at the widest point. The cowboy boot earrings measure 3/4 inch from top to bottom x 1/4 inch wide at the widest point. The pink mussel shell earrings measure 1/2 inch wide at the widest point x 2 3/4 inches long including the dangles. The blue stone earrings measure 5/8 inch across at the widest point x 7/8 inch long. The lot weighs 284.0 grams.
