Their feet are made with composition material, alluding to that they are made around 1924 or later. Additionally, one of the dolls has the appearance she is in a basket with a handle over her head.
Skookum dolls first date back to 1913 when Mary McAboy filed for a patent for the dolls. She was then granted her patent in 1914. The dolls became really popular in 1920, so Mary partnered with H.H. Tammen Co. of Denver, Colorado to keep up with the demand. Skookum dolls come in several different styles and sizes to represent various tribes, customs and dress.
