Group of 4 Chinese Porcelain Snuff Bottles, Late 19th
A group of four Chinese porcelain snuff bottles dating from the late 19th century. The group includes: a ge glaze meiping snuff bottle featuring four famille rose ducks. The bottom of the bottle has a 4-character mark, and it has a stopper with a spoon. A blue and white lobed snuff bottle featuring a landscape scene with four figures. The bottom has a 4-character mark, and it has a stopper with a spoon. A blue and white cylindrical snuff bottle featuring a horse. It has a stopper and a spoon. And lastly, a bisque snuff bottle featuring a black-glazed landscape scene with one figure. It has a stopper with a spoon that has been unattached.
Dimensions are: the largest snuff bottle with the horse measures 2 1/2 inches tall X 1 1/4 inches wide, 6.4 cm X 3.2 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: The ge glaze and blue and white lobed snuff bottles are in overall good condition. The snuff bottle with the horse has a chip to the body. The bisque snuff bottle has a crack to the lower body.
Provenance: From the estate of Mr. Pitts in Southern Virginia. The piece was collected over 30 years ago.
