Group of [4] Rare Original Photographs of the Chachmei Lublin Yeshivah

[ translate ]

Four original photographs from the history of the yeshivah: The inauguration celebration [in which dozens of rabbis and thousands of Poland's Jews participated], at which Rabbi Yisrael of Chortkov spoke; model of the Beit HaMikdash he built together with the yeshivah students, a model whose name preceded it throughout Poland; postcard from the yeshivah from 1931; picture of the rabbi at the entrance of the yeshivah, with dozens of the yeshivah students behind him, also from 1931.
Rabbi Meir Shapira was the rabbi of Lublin, the glory of Polish Jewry. He was a multifacted person - a tremendous gaon who raised the Torah world by founding the Chachmei Lublin yeshivah; one of the great leaders of Agudat Yisrael; the one who brought up his wonderful idea of 'Daf Yomi' study at the movement's Knessiah Gedolah; and a member of the Polish Sejm (parliament); he clung to Rabbi Yisrael, the Admo"r of Chortchov, with all the fervor of his soul.
He established the yeshivah in 1930, and its name preceded it throughout Poland with its uniqueness as a 'General Chassidic' yeshivah which served as the central Torah institution for training rabbis, counselors, and teachers of the people who are great in Torah. It was one of the most magnificent yeshivahs in all of Europe. Yet Rabbi Meir Shapira did not merit to have much satisfaction from it, due to his sudden passing in 1933. Rabbi Aryeh Tzvi Frumer of Kozhiglov succeeded him, and ran the yeshivah until the destruction of Poland by the evil ones, may their names be erased.
Overall very fine condition.
