Group of 5 Chinese Coral Carvings, Early 20th Century
A group of 5 Chinese coral carvings dating from the early 20th century. The group includes: 3 carvings of seated Buddha, a standing lady, and a rabbit with a wooden stand.
Dimensions: the largest seated Buddha measures 1 3/16 inches tall X 7/8 inch wide, 3 cm tall X 2.2 cm wide. Weight: 24.6 grams. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: The smallest seated Buddha carving has 2 cracks, the carving of the lady and the middle-sized seated Buddha both have small chips.
Provenance: From Mrs. Hillebrand in Chicago. Her father-in-law purchased these items in China and Hong Kong between 1935 and 1970. Lots 79-90 from our March 14, 2019 auction were from the same collection.
