Group of 5 Chinese Stone Carvings, 18-19th Century
A group of 5 Chinese stone carvings dating from the 18th to the 19th century. The group includes: an amethyst pendant carved with a squirrel on a pair of melons, a jade carved quatrefoil of serpentine beast heads, a pierced circular plaque of double happiness characters with lotuses, a pierced hulu pendant with a bat and peach on 1 side and 2 characters on the other, and a pierced jade plaque carved with a bird among foliage.
Dimensions are: the pierced bird plaque measures 2 1/2 inches tall X 2 7/8 inches wide, 6.35 cm X 7.30 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: The amethyst carving has 3 chips, and the top of the hulu pendant has been repaired. The others are in good condition.
Provenance: From a private Boston, Massachusetts collection.
