Group of Ammonites on original matrix - Lytoceras cornucopia fimbriatum - 480×280×170 mm
An extremely beautiful and rare collectible item. The Lytoceras fimbriatum are a quite rare family of ammonites. Their shell shape with outer ribs in a flared opening, resembling a ‘horn of plenty’, together with their complex sutures make these ammonites very nice. Unfortunately this feature is rarely preserved because of its thinness. They are often found already broken, but sometimes they even shatter during the preparation process. On the side of the larger ammonite there is an opening from which you can admire the calcite crystallization formed inside. Between the two Fimbriatum there is a small Hildoceras Ammonite. Dimensions: 480×280×170 mm Weight: 23 kg
