Circa 1860-80
Comprising a Josiah Wedgwood & Sons two-handled leaf-molded footed bowl, circa 1860, impressed uppercase mark, oval with upright loop branch handles, molded in the leafage pattern as overlapping leaves in shades of green, ochre and brown, on a spreading oval foot, height 6 inches, width overall 13 inches; an Adams & Bromley green-ground bread tray, circa 1880, unmarked, attributed to Adams & Bromley, of navette shape flanked by yellow scroll handles, the central oval well reserved by a continuous pastoral frieze of hounds pursuing a fox and a rider mending a grapevine beside two stallion tethered to a fence, the border inscribed in Gothic script, 'EAT THY BREAD / WITH THANKFULNESS', the reverse mottled in brown and white, width 12 1/2 inches; an Adams & Bromley yellow and green ground jug, circa 1880, unmarked, attributed to Adams & Bromley, of tapering cylindrical form, the handle as a bounding brindle hound, the side molded with a continuous pastoral view of a fox hunt, the lower body paneled, pink interior, pale yellow underside, height 8 1/2 inches; and a Griffen Smith & Hill scalloped 'begonia and wicker' basket, circa 1880, impressed GSH monogram mark, recorded as model no. C3, of scalloped oval form, the entwined upright handle molded with trailing oak leaves, the center with a large begonia leaf, the stave work sides with hexagonal cell pattern reserves, height 5 inches, width 12 inches.
