Grouping of six historic maps including; 1.) Map titled"Geological Map of The District Between Keweenaw Bay and Chocolate River, Lake Superior, Michigan" published in New York by Ackerman"s Lithography, 1849. Ref Karpinski (MI) 787 and Marcou & Marcou 369. Map is hand-colored and measures 19.5" x 25.5". Map exhibits some offsetting, some chipping at left border, and some slight foxing/burning. 2.) Map titled "Geological Map of Isle Royale Lake Superior, Michigan" published in New York by Ackerman"s Lithography, 1849. Ref Karpinski (MI) 764 and Marcou & Marcou 363. Map is hand-colored and measures 18" x 25.5". Map exhibits some chipping at left border, folds and some slight foxing/burning. 3.) Map titled"Snow Shoe Centre County Pennsylvania Drawn by E.M. Buchanan, April 13, 1860" published by P.S. Duval & Son, lithographer, Philadelphia. Map measures 18.5" x 24". Map exhibits folds, toning, and numerous ink and pencil notations regarding lot purchasers. 4.) Map titled"Snow Shoe Centre County Pennsylvania Drawn by E.M. Buchanan, April 13, 1860" published by P.S. Duval & Son, lithographer, Philadelphia. Map measures 18.5" x 24". Map exhibits folds, toning, and several pencil notations regarding lot purchasers. 5.) Map titled"Route of a proposed railroad from Powelton, West Philad'a, to the Philad'a gas works and thence to the River Delaware" published by Augustus Kollner, lithographer, 1856. Map measures 22.5" x 17.25" and exhibits toning, folds and a fold split at vertical center fold. 6.) Map titled"Philadelphia" with number"14" at upper right corner. This map was prepared by S. A. Mitchell for publication by the Philadelphia firm of Thomas Cowperthwait & Co. as plate no. 14 in the 1854 edition of Mitchell's New General Atlas. Ref. Rumsey 0545.018 and Phillips (Atlases) 814. Map measures 16.5" x 13.5" and exhibits hand-coloring, toning, and has been mounted to board.
