London Gazette 13 March 1918.Francis George Pill was a native of Birmingham who enlisted on 1 November 1915 for the duration of the war. He was appointed Lance-Corporal on 1 May 1917, and promoted to Corporal in August of the same year. His record sheet shows that he was born in 1886 and during his service received a gunshot wound to the right arm, probably in November 1917.
